For the past 40 years almost every shampoo has used the surfactant (sulfate shampoo )Foaming occurs when surfactant molecules gather around air instead of oil. The result is foaming hair. Obviously, the air bubbles are using the surfactants that should be removing dirt and oil. We have all seen shampoo advertisements showing happy, beautiful people taking showers with their heads happy smiling face . Sulfate is cheap detergent can be very harsh to your hair.People uses sulfate detergent for garage cleaner or car engine cleaner>(strong oil remover).You have to use sulfate free shampoo and conditioner.If you would like healthy hair.Many people thinks when the hair foam cleans better wrong! Hair highlighting/lowlighting refers to changing a person's hair color, using lightener or haircolor to color strands of the hair in varying sizes. There are four basic types of highlights: foil highlights, hair painting, frosting, and chunking. Highlights can be done in natural or unnatural colors. Color highlights come in four categories: temporary, semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and permanent. Hair lightened with bleach is considered permanent.

Basic foil highlighting

Foil highlighting is the process of using foil to separate strands of hair which will be lightened from strands of hair which will remain its natural color. The process is done by applying lightener to the hair that has been woven and separated using an applicator brush. The foil is then folded as to protect the hair and surrounding area during the "processing" time. This is the amount of time required to achieve the desired results. In highlighting hair hydrogen peroxide mixed with pigment is used to change the color of the strand This process is also used in applying "lowlights" to the hair. In this process, hair dyes are used to create strands of hair that are darker than the natural color. The foils are often used to separate hair strands for high and low lights during the same process.

Dry your hair before going to bed.Never go to sleep with wet hair.

Battle the Summer Heat Wave with Short Hair

We are overjoyed that warm weather and sunshine in NYC! Now that we are heading into warmer temperatures, some female clients might opt for a shorter, more practical hairstyle in order to beat the heat. Shorter hair on women can definitely look feminine but also quite flattering. We recommend shorter styles for women who have oval, round or square face shapes. These face shapes do not require longer lengths to balance out the features.

Many women who have gone this short have reported that it is liberating to lop off all of their hair. No styling needed as you roll out of bed looking the same as you did the night before!

Pink has become well known for her version of a short haircut she has been sporting for awhile now. Her haircut is completed with shears only and is softly layered and textured into the length on top. Its important to leave enough length around the face and sides in order to create the “piecy” look you see in the picture.
